Hannah
Clinical Director

Hannah Poulton is a Womens Health Physiotherapist, UK Leading Scar Specialist, C-Section Expert, Acupuncturist, Educator and PhD Student. Hannah is the Clinical Director of HLP Therapy Limited. 

Hannah started her Physiotherapy career in 2002, with one goal in mind – to help individuals recover well. Her in-depth holistic treatments, incorporate aspects of a variety of treatment modalities to suit the client.

Using expert clinical reasoning, evidence based practice and the most up-to-date treatments and devices, Hannah is able to treat a wide variety of conditions.

So, if you are suffering with painful scars, had a traumatic birth, recovering from a hysterectomy, had breast cancer surgery, require a comprehensive postnatal assessment, or have a musculoskeletal injury, then book today using the

Carrie
Women’s Health Physiotherapist

Carrie is a dedicated pelvic health physiotherapist with over 12 years of professional experience and a passion for women’s health. Her journey began with a degree in Physiotherapy from The University of Nottingham. For the first decade of her career, she served in the NHS, gaining extensive experience and honing her skills. Since then, she has transitioned into private practice, where she continues to pursue her passion for women's health.

Carrie specialises in treating a wide range of pelvic health issues, through any stage of a woman’s life including:

  • Incontinence

  • Prolapse

  • Sexual dysfunction

  • Diastasis recti

  • LBP/Pelvic girdle pain

  • Safe return to exercise after having a baby

  • Recovery from perineal trauma

  • Post-C-section recovery and scar therapy

As a fully certified Mummy MOT practitioner, Carrie is committed to offering comprehensive post-natal check-ups and rehabilitation to ensure mothers regain their physical strength and well-being. Her membership in professional organisations such as the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP), the Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy (POGP), the British Menopause Society (BMS), and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) reflects her dedication to maintaining high standards of practice and staying updated with the latest advancements in physiotherapy.

Beyond her professional life, Carrie is a proud mother of one and enjoys running. Her own experiences, including two miscarriages, gynaecological surgery and a C-section, have fuelled her belief that all women deserve better healthcare.  It is this belief that drives her to provide personalised, effective treatment plans that empower women to lead healthy, active lives.

Charlotte
Women's Health Physiotherapist &
Pelvic Health Specialist

Charlotte Owen qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2006 from Coventry University.  Since graduating Charlotte has worked in a variety of settings within the NHS and Private Practice. 

​

Charlotte specialises in the areas of Women’s Health, Pelvic Health, Pelvic Floor dysfunction, Scar treatment and Respiratory.  She took an interest in Women’s Health after the birth of her daughter, after seeing first hand the problems women can present with.  

​

Charlotte has taken several post-graduate courses to further her knowledge and skills within this area. These have included specialist courses on incontinence, prolapse, bladder pain syndrome, pelvic pain, bowel health, scar management including C-section scars, The Menopause Movement certification (looking at menopause symptoms and how to treat these), Mummy MOT, Pink Ribbon Programme (breast cancer exercise specialist course) and Pilates.   

​

Charlotte has also completed training in visceral mobilisation for women’s health. Visceral mobilisation is a gentle hands on treatment looking at restrictions in the tissues and organs.  This can help with the management of endometriosis, bladder and bowel symptoms, pelvic pain, tummy gap, scars and breathing dysfunction to name a few.

​

Charlotte is also a qualified acupuncturist and treats a wide range of symptoms including: Menopause symptoms, anxiety, migraines, hot flushes and so much more.

Charlotte enjoys treating women with a holistic approach, focusing on them and their concerns and formulating an individualised treatment programme.

Gemma
Clinical Occupational Therapist, Massage & Scar Specialist

Gemma is an Occupational Therapist who has always had a passion for natural health and wellness. Gemma has an array of experience, having previously worked within the NHS and public sectors.

Gemma uses a holistic approach in order to customise treatments to individual’s needs, using a variety of treatment methods such as scar massage, aromatherapy, gentle massage and deep tissue massage, alongside devices such as the lymphatouch.

Gemma’s skills include pre and post-natal massages, pregnancy massage, deep tissue massage, scar massage and manual lymphatic drainage techniques. Gemma has experience in musculoskeletal hand and upper limb conditions alongside scar therapy following plastics and oncology surgeries.

​

Gemma offers scar therapy for children and treats facial scars and scars in adolescents. Gemma is also highly experienced in the measuring, selecting and fitting of compression garments.

 

Gemma is also a qualified Aromatherapist and able to make bespoke product blends.

Gemma has taken several post - graduate courses to further develop her knowledge within these areas which include British association of hand therapists level 1, manual lymphatic drainage for oncology and lymphatic drainage post surgery and scar management including C-section scarring and oncology scarring. 

Gemma has recently taken up Triathlons in her spare time and so has a keen interest in exercise as a means to help improve overall wellness, alongside treatment to aid recovery.

Leila
Physiotherapist & Pessary Treatment Specialist

Leila has been a physiotherapist for nearly 20 years, having graduated from The University of Manchester in 2005 with a BSc (HONS) Physiotherapy. She then completed her Masters degree in Rehabilitation Studies (Physiotherapy in Women's Health) in 2012 at the University of Bradford. She is a Specialist Pelvic Health and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with 17 years' experience working in the NHS working in various Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal services and also leading a Pelvic Rehab Service.  

​

Leila is a full member of the Pelvic Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy Association (POGP). 

​

Leila has two young boys herself, and she is a keen exerciser and enjoys regularly running and strength training.  Her passion is to be able to help women stay active and function well throughout their lifetime. 

​

Leila has set up the HLP Therapy Pessary Service, to be able to properly assess, fit and provide aftercare and support for women needing pessaries. Pessaries are supports for the pelvic organs that help to manage symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse.

Nicola
Administrator

Nicola has a background in administration, marketing and customer service. As a C-section mum to three, she knows how important getting the best postnatal care can impact other areas of life.

Sam
Postnatal Exercise Specialist and Personal Trainer

Sam is a postnatal exercise specialist and personal trainer with a passion for helping women regain their strength post birth. 

 

Sam is a professionally trained dancer, Level 2 Fitness Instructor, Level 3 Personal Trainer, Level 3 Pre and Postnatal Exercise, an Advanced Postnatal Exercise and Wellness Practitioner, Advanced Pregnancy exercise and wellness practitioner, Level 2 Gym instructor and has her GP referral qualification.

 

As well as all of these high level qualifications and experience, Sam has obtained a Certificate in Nutrition awarded by Optimum Nutrition. Sam feels that the postnatal client is very neglected when it comes to help with recovery and getting back into exercise safely and Sam is passionate about supporting this client group to achieve their goals. 

 

Sam offers personal training, mum and baby specialist classes and evening fitness classes which include barre fitness, HIIT, strength classes, body conditioning classes and dance classes.

Sam is dedicated and passionate about seeing mums and women improve their fitness, understand what works for them (in regards to exercise) and support women on their health recovery journey. Sam makes her sessions fun and interactive, providing a specialist service for every woman.
