What is a Reformer and How does it work? 

What is a reformer?

  • A bed-like machine with a sliding carriage, springs, ropes, and handles 

  • The springs provide resistance to help build strength 

  • The carriage moves back and forth to aid motion 

  • You pull against the resistance into Pilates poses to help improve flexibility and strength

  • A series of controlled movements (Pilates) that target specific muscle groups  

  • Focuses on correct posture and breath work  

  • Includes a warm-up, dynamic sequence, and cool-down
